C.R.A.A.C. is an advisory committee to the Mayor and Council. We are committed to making Campbell River a truly accessible community. If you have an access issue or would like more information about this committee, please call Judy 286-1161.
Measuring Up
Campbell River is participating in the Measuring up Initiative as supported by 2010 Legacies Now and the Provincial Government. Measuring Up is a collaborative process that engages people with disabilities, local government, the business sector and other community leaders to assess and improve local accessibility and inclusion.
A disability refers to impairments related to hearing, seeing, speaking, moving around, learning or coping. Some people prefer not to refer to themselves as having a disability, yet can experience limitations requiring certain adaptations and the need for accessibility and inclusion. Disabilities can be visible or invisible, short-term or long-term. 15% of British Columbians have a disability.
